About Us

Inspire Karate Academy was founded in February 2022 by Lauren Wheeler.  Who wanted to set up a club as she was inspired to Instructor Karate by her Instructors. She wanted to showcase the benefits to taking part in a martial art can have on your life.

Sensei Lauren Wheeler - 2nd Dan

Sensei Lauren Wheeler - Started her training in Shotokan Karate in September 2001.  She trained with the Woodley Club who were at the time associated to Southern Shotokan Karate Association. Lauren Wheeler than moved abroad to Netherlands continuing her training with a JKA Affiliated club. She achieved 3rd Kyu before returning to the UK. In 2010 She achieved 1st Dan with the Southern Shotokan Karate Association. She took a break from karate until joining a Club in Maidstone Kent who belong to the Karate Union of Great Britain at time before the club moved to Shotokan Connect in Summer of 2021. She achieved her 2nd Dan in March 2020 just prior the first lockdown. Sensei Lauren had an ambition since she was a 1st Kyu to set up her own club.
